European Parliament adopts its position on regulation aiming to reduce microplastic pollution

23/04/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 23 April, MEPs adopted (538 votes in favour, 32 against, and 31 abstentions) their position on the proposal for a regulation aiming to prevent plastic pellet losses and reduce microplastic pollution (see EUROPE B13374A14). The proposal demands that preventive measures be implemented and immediate action be taken to avoid pellet losses. Companies that handle more than 1,000 tonnes of pellets/year will have to draw up risk assessment plans....
